This informal gathering will bring together faculty, students, and friends of the Institute, offering an opportunity to reconnect after the summer, meet new colleagues, and preview our exciting fall lineup of events. Fall highlights include (Speaker Series & Special Events): Sept. 19 (11:30 AM–1:00 PM): John Bruns '86 (retired VP of Boeing Commercial Airplanes; former President of Boeing China). The program begins with the Bucknell in China 2026 Summer Program Information Session (11:30–12:10 PM), followed by Bruns' Keynote Address (12:10–1:00 PM). Oct. 9 (12:00–1:00 PM): Professor Chris Magee (Economics) & Professor Zhiqun Zhu (Political Science and International Relations) on Tariffs, Trade, and Tensions: The Economics and Politics of U.S.–China Relations Nov. 12 (12:00–1:00 PM): Professor Gordon Gao (Johns Hopkins University; Co-Director, Center for Digital Health and AI) on AI in Healthcare Oct/Nov (Date TBD): Professor Jennifer Hunt (Rutgers University; former Chief Economist, U.S. Department of Labor) on Immigration and Innovation Special Programs: Fall 2025 (Date TBD): China Institute Book Club (book to be announced) Light refreshments will be served.
