Ben is a Bucknell graduate from New York City. He spent six years working in advertising - starting out in social media, then became a media buyer working for brands like Lysol, Mucinex, Volkswagen, and Aetna Health Insurance. He completed his MBA program at Fordham University in New York City in May 2022. Prior to Netflix, he was an account executive at Google. - Apr 2412:00 PMLab to Life: A Research Scientist's Journey in Pharma"Join the CCA, and the student chapters of American Chemistry Society (ACS) and American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) in welcoming Dennis Murphy '80, Ph.D, back to Bucknell as he shares his career journey - from labs in Olin Science to his work at GSK and Merck Research Labs. Lunch provided; Registration appreciated for food count. Dennis Murphy, Ph.D., is a seasoned research scientist with expertise in biochemistry, enzyme kinetics, and biophysical techniques. He has worked in all phases of drug development—from lead identification and optimization to formulation and regulatory filing—and still works at the lab bench, designing and running experiments. He holds a B.A. in Biology and B.A. in Chemistry from Bucknell, a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and completed an NIH Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Enzymology at Penn State University. In addition to his industry contributions, Dennis serves as a Career Consultant for the American Chemical Society, mentoring aspiring and established scientists in their professional journeys."
