Come audition for the Theatre & Dance department Winter Showcase production macbitches, directed by Evelyn Pierce '25.Synopsis: When a freshman is unexpectedly given the coveted role of Lady Macbeth, a few upperclassmen actresses invite her over to "celebrate" her casting and reassert their positions at the top of the theatre department's hierarchy. The quartet was established in 2000 at the Accademia Walter Stauffer in Cremona, Italy. Now in its 23rd season, Quartetto di Cremona has toured extensively in Europe, the U.S., South America and Asia; appeared at leading festivals, and performed regularly on radio and television broadcasts, including on the RAI, BBC, Westdeutscher Rundfunk and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The group's extensive repertoire encompasses key masterworks from Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert; essential late nineteenth- and twentieth-century literature, and contemporary works by Osvaldo Golijov, Helmut Lachemann, Fabio Vacchi, Silvia Colasanti, Nimrod Borenstein and Kalevi Aho. The quartet is also known for its performances of work by Italian composers, including Verdi, Respighi and Boccherini.

Born and raised in Charlotte, N.C., Mason took to the piano at the late age of 13, teaching himself by ear to play the styles of music he was most attracted to. His approach quickly evolved into a highly original language. Mason's unique voice in jazz is steeped in the sounds of the South, allowing an extended time for groove, while also displaying a vocabulary far beyond his years. He leads the Sean Mason Quartet, a band assembled to play his original music, which has been described as highly melodic and infectious.

Fiction & Poetry Reading Vivian Hu & Jessica Nirvana Ram Thursday, November 14, 7pm, Bucknell Hall A 2024 NEA Fellow, Vivian Hu has received fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference and A Public Space. Her stories have appeared in A Public Space, The Drift, Narrative, and elsewhere. She is the Fall 2024 Roth Resident in Creative Writing at Bucknell. Jessica Nirvana Ram is the author of the debut poetry collection Earthly Gods (Variant Literature, 2024) and the chapbook in the aftermath (Prismatica Press, 2024). Her work has appeared in Prairie Schooner, Chicago Quarterly Review, and Hayden's Ferry Review, amongst others.
