First Year Students | Rooke Chapel
Come sing with the Rooke Chapel Vocal Ensemble. All are welcome, regardless of religious background or experience level. Rehearse, sing and lead music during worship in Rooke Chapel (11 a.m.-noon). Breakfast provided. For those interested, auditions for the weekly (paid) ensemble can be arranged following the rehearsal.

First Year Students | The Lewisburg Club, 131 Market St.
Orthodox Christian Divine Liturgy for the Bucknell and local communities. The Lewisburg Club is a short walk from campus on Market St. across from the Lewisburg Hotel. All are welcome to come and meet the campus and local Orthodox Christian community. Liturgy will be followed by a coffee hour and fellowship for those who can stay. Saturday evening Vespers at 5 p.m. is also at the same location.

First Year Students | Bucknell Landing
Join us anytime between 10 a.m.--noon to enjoy some time on the Susquehanna River! We'll be at the Bucknell Boat Launch (google maps link here). Drop by to kayak, paddle board, float in an inflatable tube, or just hangout by the water to cool off. Outdoor Education and Leadership staff will be present to help with equipment, and then you'll be free to take to the water. Wear comfortable clothes, and shoes and clothes that can get wet ! Shoes are required. Gear is provided and no experience is necessary. This is a casual event, and gear is available first come first serve. Please sign-up here.

Enjoy bagels, coffee and conversation with new and returning students at our first bagel brunch of the year. Bagel brunch is every other week during the academic year and is open to all students. Gluten free options are always available.

Please join the University chaplain for an ecumenical celebration of Christian worship. The Rooke Chapel congregation is an open, welcoming, intergenerational faith community. It’s a great place for spiritual growth and fellowship outside the classroom. Everyone is welcome. Food and fellowship will follow worship.

Connect with multicultural organizations to learn more about the varied communities that exist at Bucknell and the many types of support available for students. All are welcome to join and share space.

First Year Students | Weis Center and Malesardi Quadrangle
Convocation officially opens the academic year at Bucknell. After convocation, you will process to Malesardi Quadrangle for the traditional candlelighting ceremony.
