Parent and Family Breakout Sessions

Description

Parents and families are invited to choose from a variety of breakout sessions. Sessions are designed to help you learn more about life at Bucknell and will offer tips for supporting your student through their transition to college. *Families with questions about financial aid, billing, or accounts may meet individually with the offices of Financial Aid (621 St. George Street) and Bursar Services (108 Marts Hall)Belonging & Connections Gallery Theatre, Elaine Langone Center, Third Floor Learn about the ways your student can get involved in life outside the classroom through student clubs and organizations, club sports, intramurals, affinity spaces, community engaged leadership and more.Dining at Bucknell Bostwick Marketplace Meet with staff from Bison Kitchen, Bucknell’s dining vendor to learn all about your student’s dining experience on campus. The team will answer questions about Dining Dollars, Plus Dollars, allergen-friendly options and more.Experiential Learning Rooke Chemistry 116 Meet with staff from the Center for Career Advancement, Global & Off-Campus Education and Undergraduate Research and Fellowships to learn about the many opportunities Bucknell students have to learn and thrive through experiential learning opportunities outside of the classroom.Living on a Residential Campus Gardner Lecture Hall, Dana Engineering 113 Learn how Bucknell builds residential communities, fosters belonging for our students and get answers to all of your housing-related questions.Parent to Parent Hislop Family Auditorium, Holmes Hall Join a group of Bucknell parents to hear about their family experiences. We'll cover topics such as student life, study abroad, campus resources and tips for making the next four years the best they can be for your student and your family.Student Health and Well-Being Olin Science 268 This session introduces families to the staff of the Counseling & Student Development Center, Bucknell Student Health and Bucknell Nutrition. They will provide information about available services and help families prepare for the myriad ways the transition to college can impact their students.
